MEA-Retired Officers

MEA - Retired President - Judy Foster

After a 34 year teaching career in middle school I retired in 1995. I have been an active MEA-Retired member since then. I formed a retired chapter in Florida and one in Eaton County.

I have served as a delegate to the MEA and NEA Representative Assemblies since 1995. In 2007 I was elected MEA-Retired Vice President and September 1, 2013 I became MEA-Retired President.

DeWitt, Michigan is my home town where my husband Roger and I live with my daughter and her family near-by. Our three grandsons are involved in many sports and keep Grandpa and Grandma busy being devoted spectators.

Communications is one of the goals of your MEA-Retired officers. We will increase communication with you as well as with legislators, the Michigan Office of Retirement Services, MEA, and our health insurance providers. We hope all of you will join us to help achieve this goal.

Vice-President Kay Walker-Telma

Kay Walker-Telma began her three-year term as Vice-President of MEA-Retired September 1. She is president of the Grand Traverse Bay Area chapter of MEA-Retired, has been part of the chapter’s Executive Board since 2003 and currently served as the Region 15 representative on the MEA-Retired Board of Directors in 2015-16.  A Traverse City Area Public Schools teacher from 1976-2003, she was president of the Traverse City EA from 2001-2003, UniServ Field Assistant in the MEA 15-A (Traverse City) office from 2003-2013 and temporary UniServ Director in 2013.

She enjoys living in the beautiful Grand Traverse area, walking, reading, traveling and spending wonderful time with family and friends.

MEA - Retired Secretary/Treasurer - Dan Rudd

I retired from the Huron Valley School District in 2005 after teaching 12.5 years at the elementary level and then 20 years in middle school. In 2007, my wife and I moved to Howell. We have three grandchildren, the oldest grand-daughter is getting married in January. Our grandson is involved in Cross Country and track and we enjoy being spectators. The youngest one does not have any interests at this time.

I became active in the West Oakland County Chapter of MEA-Retired in the fall of 2005 when I was elected as Secretary. I have since been elected to serve as Treasurer of the Chapter as well as Secretary of the Livingston County Chapter. I have served as a retired delegate to the MEA and NEA Representative Assemblies since 2006. In 2007, I was elected to my current position of Secretary/Treasurer of MEA-Retired.

It has been my pleasure to serve with three Presidents. I am looking forward to serving with our newly elected Officers for the next three years as we face the challenges ahead.
